As a researcher at Spark, Ms. Lacy provides research and evaluation services focused on food systems development, health equity and community engagement in domestic and international settings. Her main interest is in using evaluation as a tool for strategic learning to improve the efficacy and power for change in organizations. Ms. Lacy brings a strong background in community-based public health programs working at the nexus of agriculture, nutrition and community development. She is also fluent in Spanish. Kristin is a member of the Denver Sustainable Food Policy Council, which supports innovation and positive changes within the City’s food system, where she supports research and policy recommendations to implement a Good Food Purchasing Program in Denver.
After receiving her Masters in Development Practice from the University of Denver, Kristin spent 2.5 years in Guatemala helping co-found an agricultural development organization working to organize rural corn farmers around sustainable agricultural techniques. Prior to joining Spark, Kristin worked for a community-based food organization in Denver where she led a team of neighborhood advocates in home gardening and nutrition, helping build one of the largest community-led urban agriculture programs in the country. In all of her work Kristin has enjoyed developing innovative evaluation design to advance strategic learning, while maintaining the integration of diverse voices in planning.
Outside of work Kristin enjoys spending time with her friends and family, and being active in the Colorado outdoors hiking, biking, climbing, and practicing yoga. She is an avid home gardener and enjoys volunteering for her neighborhood organization and food co-op.
